Order history

Orders by Group (OBG)

Order history, regrouped by the encounter that produced it.

OBG demo coming soon

OBG brings the same regrouping logic to the orders side of the chart, so providers can see what was ordered, by whom, in what clinical context, without scrolling a flat list.

What it does

How OBG works in the chart

  • Groups order history by specialty, provider, and encounter type.
  • Surfaces patterns across encounters that would otherwise be invisible: repeat prescriptions, follow-up labs, escalating workups.
  • Reduces the search-and-find tax of standard order review.

Who uses it

Primary users in production

  • Providers reviewing prior workups before adding new orders
  • Pharmacists doing reconciliation
  • Nurses preparing for a procedure or visit

Why teams pick it up

The benefits providers feel on day one

Context-grouped, not chronology-grouped

Chronological order lists hide patterns. Regrouped lists expose them.

Specialty-aware

What an ENT cares about in the order history is not the same as what a hospitalist or a pharmacist cares about. OBG knows the difference.

What’s next

Future directions for OBG

  • 1Ability to cancel and reorder orders from one encounter to another in a single workflow, saving the manual re-entry tax across visits.
